Tam Harrington
Wearable sculpture and found-object garments built from the contents of the coast.
Tam Harrington makes garments and sculptures from things other people have thrown away — driftwood, fishing line, beach plastic, salvaged textile, the small detritus that washes up along the Sunshine Coast.
The pieces are too strange to be fashion and too inhabitable to be sculpture; they sit in the seam between, which is exactly where her work intends to be. Shown locally through the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, the practice is the kind that grows out of a place rather than into a market.
She doesn't have a personal site yet. That's the kind of artist this directory was made for.
