Listing policy

How the directory works, in plain English.

We’re a small editorial team building a public directory. The rules below are intentionally short — we’d rather honour the spirit than the letter.

01

How we list artists

We research artists across the open web — portfolio sites, gallery rosters, regional artist registries — and build each profile from publicly available information. Every entry is reviewed by an editor before it goes live. We do not list living artists who have asked, in any visible way, not to be listed.

02

What we display

One representative artwork image (always credited), a homepage screenshot of your portfolio site, your name and primary medium, a short editorial summary written by us, your region, and any public social links you choose to include on your existing channels. We do not republish portfolios in full. We do not collect or display contact information that isn't already public.

03

How to claim your profile

Use the claim button on your profile page. Once verified, you can upload up to ten images of your work, edit the bio, set your socials, and pick a custom slug. You can also tell us if you'd prefer a different representative image, or none at all.

04

How to remove your listing

Email remove@revolve.art or click the removal link on your profile page. Listings are removed within twenty-four hours, no questions asked.

05

Image rights

We display one image per profile under fair-use editorial framing, with full credit and a link to the source. Artists who claim their profile and upload additional work confirm they own the work or have permission to display it, and grant revolve.art a non-exclusive license to display it within the directory. The license ends when the artist removes the work or the listing.

06

On .art domains

We earn an affiliate commission when artists register a .art domain through our recommendation. We only recommend .art because it is the only top-level domain made for artists. We do not require it, and removing your listing has no effect on your existing domains.
