Nikita Gale

Nikita Gale builds installations from concrete, barricades, automated sound and light — the infrastructure of visibility and control. The work asks who gets heard, who gets seen, and what structures decide. Silence and noise aren't opposites here; they're political positions, and the artist treats them accordingly.

She holds degrees in anthropology and new genres, and the practice shows both: a rigor about systems and a willingness to break formal boundaries. Technology as extension of the body, reproduction as a mechanism of power, the audience as witness and accomplice.

Her work has appeared at Tate Modern, MoMA PS1, the Whitney Biennial, and Chisenhale. She won the Bucksbaum Award in 2024 and serves as Contributing Editor at Triple Canopy. The studio is in Los Angeles.
