Camille Henrot
Camille Henrot's expansive practice moves fluidly across film, sculpture, drawing, and installation, creating a complex dialogue around individual experience and global subjects.
Camille Henrot's multidisciplinary practice navigates the complexities of contemporary existence, moving seamlessly between film, painting, drawing, bronze, sculpture, and installation. She draws extensively from literature, psychoanalysis, social media, and cultural anthropology to explore the intricate relationship between private identity and global consciousness.
Her seminal 2013 film, 'Grosse Fatigue,' a result of a Smithsonian Institute fellowship, earned her the Silver Lion at the 55th Venice Biennale. This work laid the groundwork for her acclaimed 2014 installation, 'The Pale Fox,' which toured internationally and showcased the breadth of her diverse output.
Henrot has been honored with the Nam June Paik Award and the Edvard Munch Award, and her work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions worldwide, including major presentations at the Palais de Tokyo, New Museum, and the National Gallery of Victoria.
