Tim Shields photographs cities, shorelines, and the in-between hours when both go quiet. His pictures — long-exposure water, glassy reflections, skylines held in the moment a storm passes — read like dispatches from a practiced kind of attention.
He works between digital and large-format, prints in editions, and writes about the practice of photography on a long-running blog that’s become a quiet field guide for working photographers across Canada.
The pictures are unsentimental. The places, less so.
