Nicolás Guagnini

Nicolás Guagnini paints heads and torsos — hyper-stylized, psychedelic, often uncomfortable. The work begins as drawing, migrates to oil on canvas, and carries the residue of a practice that includes typography design, film collectives, and writing for October and Texte zur Kunst.

He co-founded Orchard Gallery and Union Gaucha Productions, and his exhibitions have ranged from MACRO Rome to Artists Space. The work holds multiple registers at once: formal investigation, institutional critique, and a persistent attention to the body as a site of meaning and distortion.

He has lived and worked in New York since 1998, and the practice remains restless — painter, writer, organizer, provocateur.
