Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg create immersive, psychologically charged installations that blend clay animation, sculpture, and sound to explore human and animalistic desires.

Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg craft unsettling, immersive installations that fuse clay animation, sculpture, and sound. Their collaborative practice delves into psychologically charged scenarios, exploring the basest of human and animalistic desires with a distinctive, often grotesque, visual language.

Djurberg's stop-motion animations dramatize themes of jealousy, revenge, greed, and lust, brought to life by Berg's atmospheric soundscapes and hypnotic musical scores. Since 2004, their combined vision has produced transgressive narratives rich in symbolic meaning, blurring the lines between cinematic storytelling, sculptural forms, and performative environments.

Their work, recognized with the Silver Lion at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009, often features allegorical myths and nightmarish visions. Djurberg and Berg continue to create interdisciplinary pieces that challenge viewers within environments that pair moving images and musical compositions with related set pieces and built objects.
